Feb. Vacation in Boston

Just got back from a wonderful quick holiday to Boston. Highlights included Paul Revere's house, some great meals, Allegri's Miserere at Ash Wednesday service, all the Copleys at the MFA and of course, the cannoli from Mike's.

Choir Concert at the Eric Carle Museum

All three kids sang this weekend in their concert choir's winter concert. Really fabulous music. No video this time but later in the spring I will post a few songs. They have a great arrangement of "Java Jive" in the works and a clever Czech arrangement of one of Bach's minuets.

When I saw the picture on the concert announcement, I made the director promise not to tell anyone that I had no idea which McBride child this was a picture of......apparently it is Brendan.....

Report Card Day at the middle school

Another fantastic result for our resident 6th grader! Math, science, language, french, even a much maligned basketball unit - Aoife couldn't have gotten higher marks.

This week at our house...

IEA show in Conn. last Sunday. Aoife pinned 6th in her flat class but the big news is that the Heritage Farm Middle School team placed 1st and gathered enough points to send the team to regionals!! So Aoife will go with her team and got enough points, herself, to go as an individual! Hooray!
Liam swam in the big Y championship meet last Saaturday and beat his personal best in all events - He flattened his personal best in 100 IM and won his heat.
Brendan and Aoife joined their Young People's Chorus at the WGBY studios in Springfield, MA to tape a segment for the 2012 choir competietion Together in Song. Stay tuned for air times!
